Volunteer at the FoSCA Haven

The FoSCA Haven is open for adoptions Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-3. We also have two shifts everyday that go in and feed the animals and clean the shelter. Let Christy, our Shelter Chairman know if you would like to become a Haven Helper.

Foster Care

Occasionally, we have a pet that isn't quite ready to be adopted. Maybe she's ill, too young, or needs to learn some social skills in order to be a great house-pet. Sometimes, a pet just needs a break from shelter life for a few days. At these times, it would be nice to have foster homes to take in these animals.

Lots of folks have asked about fostering; what's involved, what do you need to have, who pays for what, etc. FoSCA is in the process of nailing down specifics, but we wanted to go ahead and let you know what's involved.

  • You will need to fill out a foster application. This application asks questions like "what type of house do you live in, how many animals do you have, have you ever been convicted of a crime causing harm to another person or animal?".

  • You will need to sign a foster agreement that states that your own animals shots are up to date, you agree to bring the animal in for their scheduled de-worming and vaccinations, and that FoSCA will be held harmless if your animal becomes sick from the foster animal, etc.

We have several animals fostered out into loving homes. These foster parents will take care of the animals until someone adopts them. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, call 912-564-5869 or click here to email us.
